Honda Cars Philippines, Inc.
Under its participation in the Motor Vehicle
Development Program, Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) has invested P1.8 B
in local manufacturing operations and state-of-the-art production plant. To
carry out its undertaking, Honda provides direct employment to some 800
personnel.
Honda’s entry to the Philippine Automotive Industry paved the way for the
establishment of several auto parts suppliers in the country. To date, a
total of 18 investors have brought in capital investments close to P4.9 B and
provide income to more than 6,000 Filipinos.
HCPI was a recipient of the first annual Best Quality Award granted by Honda
Motor Co. Ltd. of Japan. For its rigorous testing methods, HCPI received an
ISO 9002 certification in November 1997—an assurance of the outstanding
quality of Honda automobiles.
